Sighet Day 2

Today was the second day we were in Sighet. Today was very similar to yesterday, we had eyeglass ministry in the morning while a few members went to the maternity center, VBS in the afternoon, and the construction team worked all day.

Eyeglass ministry was extremely busy! I think people who came yesterday told their friends who in turn told their friends and so on. We were supposed to hold the clinic from 8:30AM to 1:30PM but ended up going until just about 4:00PM because of the amount of patients who showed up. This is a huge praise because the gospel was shared with so many people! Please be praying that the conversations would bear fruit and that God would water the planted seeds.

VBS went very well! We ended up shortening the stations by 10 minutes, but the kids all seemed to have a lot of fun. Today's lesson was following the wordless book (green, black, red, white, yellow). The kids got to make a bracelet with beads to match the colors of the book. This was a very energetic group, and I think the team was pretty drained after this. Pray for good rest and recuperation. This was the last VBS day of the trip, and I think many people would say it held some of the highlights of the trip. The kids were very fun to be around and teach and play games with. Some spoke English which was very fun. Continue to pray for these kids and their hearts.

Construction made great progress. They are almost done with the fence! They got the concrete poured and the stakes placed and I believe they also got the fence repainted. They are very optimistic about tomorrow! Continue to pray for the construction crew and also pray for the church they are serving. Pray that the members would feel encouraged by the work completed and that the church could grow.

Maternity visit went well also. Carole, Mary, Tom, and Vera went back to the same center, and they also visited a transition center for kids removed from their homes for safety reasons, and another orphanage. They visited and hung out with many kids and people, and they spent more time with Jack whom they met and got to know yesterday. Continue to pray for him! The team handed out some care packages which included some toys, toothbrushes, combs/hair-ties, candy, etc. Praise God for the amount of people we were able to reach through this ministry!

Tomorrow we begin our eyeglass ministry in Ocna, the small town where we are staying. We got everything set up tonight so we are ready in the morning! Be praying for a good turnout and pray for great conversations with the people!

Thank you for reading!
