Detailed Construction Updates

Thursday Construction Update – God’s Provision and Great Progress

Thursday marked our second to last day on the construction site, and we’re incredibly grateful for how much we were able to accomplish.

One of our biggest concerns going into the day was the concrete work. Pouring the cement for the fence posts would have been a massive task if we had to mix and pour everything by hand. But the Lord provided in a big way—we were able to secure a cement truck, which is rarely done for small jobs like this. Not only did the company agree to come, but the driver went above and beyond. He stayed with us for over 40 minutes, helped with chute positioning, and supported the entire process—something that’s not the norm. We’re thankful for his patience and willingness to help.

With the cement poured and the posts lined up and leveled, we were able to push forward with other tasks. The metal fence and gates were fully polished, degreased, and nearly all painted by the end of the day. It was a full and productive day, and we’re thankful for the Lord’s help, and the dedication of everyone involved.
Praying we’re on track to wrap up the construction portion of the project on Friday.

Friday Construction Update

Friday was our final day for the construction project—and we had been praying all week that we would be able to wrap things up by the end of the day. Not just to finish the job, but so the construction crew could experience other aspects of ministry on Saturday and have opportunities to serve and share the Gospel beyond construction work.

The main goals for Friday were: weld the gates and fence panels, remove the concrete forms, clean the site, and bring everything to a close. We had tried to begin welding on Thursday, but quickly realized our equipment wasn’t powerful enough to handle the work. So we reached out—made some calls—and trusted God would make a way. And He did.

On Friday morning, we received confirmation that a welder from a nearby city would come to help. Not only was he skilled and equipped, but he turned out to be a fellow Christian—another one of God’s provisions. Soon after he arrived, the rain started falling. After welding one gate, we had to pause. Then it rained again. And again. We brought equipment in, waited, dried things off, and went back out. This repeated several times.

At one point, the welder expressed concerns about safety. He suggested coming back another day. We didn’t push. We simply prayed and submitted the outcome to the Lord’s will. If He wanted us to finish, He would make a way. And if not, we would trust Him still.

Not long after that, the welder changed his mind and said he wanted to stay and help us finish. That moment felt like an answer to prayer. Not only did he stay, but he also helped weld the fencing panels—something we couldn’t have completed without him.

Another local brother from a neighboring church also stopped by throughout the day. He offered us the use of any of his tools and even brought rubber boots to help keep us safe while welding in wet conditions. Once again, God showed up—through His people, through provision, through perfect timing.

By the end of the day, we had completed every goal. The gates and panels were installed. The forms were removed. The site was cleaned. The fencing project was done.

That day a powerful thought came to mind: that there is more power in a house of prayer than even in the White House. While one may be majestic and admired by the world, the other—however humble—houses God’s presence among His people. The small, uneven church building we were working on might not look like much, but it is a place where the Lord Jesus is worshiped. That truth gave me a renewed sense of reverence and felt once again privileged to be working for the Lord and His people.

We count it a great privilege to have served here, and we give all glory to God for His grace, provision, and love for this little church. The repairs may not be done in full, but what we finished, we pray will be a blessing for years to come.

Praise the Lord!
