Romania 2025

       Today was a day to catch up on some much needed rest after the long travel day, and to prepare for all the ministries we are involved in throughout the week. We started the day with a nice walk around the city, Ocna Şugatag. We handed out some fliers for the upcoming VBS and for the eyeglass clinic. Most people took the fliers, but please be praying that people would show up to these events and have the gospel shared to them. We were able to put together and prepare all of the care packages for the orphans we are visiting, care packages for the maternity center patients we are visiting, and all the items needed for the first day of VBS.  We did some run-throughs of our skit, and went and saw where we will be hosting the VBS to get a better idea of how things will look.  Tomorrow we are looking forward to two church services where Paul, Brianne, Gianna, and Raisa (the pastor's daughter) will be playing some worship songs, and Pastor Tom will be preach...

          We successfully were able to catch our connecting flight in Munich, and we made it to Romania! Thank you all for praying for us! Praise God for his providence and going ahead of us to prepare the way!      We arrived in Cluj and got all of our checked bags, and then Alex and two others from the local church picked us up in some vans and we all had a lovely dinner just outside of Cluj. After dinner we drove three hours north to Ocna Sugatag and got settled in.        Today is our travel day! As you can see, we have many bags to take with us! Our flight leaves from Vancouver BC, Canada, so we had to rent two vans to take us there from the church. God was gracious and getting through border crossing into Canada was a breeze, and we arrived at the Vancouver airport with plenty of time to spare! Our flight is scheduled to depart at 6:50pm and we are supposed to arrive in Munich, Germany at 1:30pm June 20th where we have a quick turnaround to make our next flight to Cluj, Romania which is scheduled to begin boarding at 2:10pm.  We are all very excited to arrive in Romania and meet the people we are going to serve! We will be partnering with Ocna Sugatag Baptist Church and sharing about Christ while serving in several ministries: eyeglass ministry, VBS, orphan care, helping hands / widow care, maternity center, hospital visits, providing seminars, construction projects, and sermons.
